Area Attractions

  The historic Pioneer Valley offers numerous cultural events year-round, as well an eclectic choice of restaurants. For the outdoor enthusiast there is cycling, golf, cross-country skiing, tennis, bird-watching at the Quabbin Reservoir, or walks in the numerous area parks. Craft boutiques, art galleries, antique shops, and booksellers abound in the surrounding towns. The Yankee Candle factory and historic Deerfield are just up the road. The many activities sponsored by the area's five colleges--Amherst, Smith, the University of Massachusetts, Mt. Holyoke and Hampshire College--are available to visitors as well.
